Gillette
introduces this new models in 1929.
New
improvements have been made to the "new
improved" bullet type razors from 1921.
Now the "bullets" of the head
have been removed, which helps
to clean the razor without separating the
3 parts. "Just losen the cap, turn
the guard at right angle and rinse under
water".
The
price for the 5 standard NEW models with
one blade is just $ 1, very cheap for a
razor that is
gold plated (the De Luxe models are more
expensive). With this trick of a very low
price for the
safety
razor
Gillette
pretends to reach many new customers, who
can try 1 blade of the brand and
make sure that it is the best brand over
the
world.
Then the seller just have to wait the new
happy customers to repeat and buy a new
packet of 5 blades at $ 1, every month,
from that day on forever, once the customer
is convinced. That is the way Gillette
made so much money just selling safety
razor blades.
NEW CAP:
Reinforced corners prevent damage
if the razor
drops, and eliminates one of the
causes of "razor pull".
